I'm based in Boston but can travel throughout New England for photo sessions. I shoot portraits and lifestyle photography and along with wedding photography I'm especially fond of photographing pets with their owners. My approach with pets is to capture them in a dignified and respectful way that expresses their unique qualities. My approach with people is similar in that I want a person to accept their uniqueness and all that it entails and let me find the best way to visually portray them. As to what my visual aesthetic is, my photos speak best to that.
The lifestyle approach to photography I follow is one in which above all else I want my subjects to be comfortable in their natural environment and interact as if I'm not there. With every shoot I do I find that a story inevitably unfolds and with a little time one eventually gets comfortable in the process and trusts the photographer to make them look their best.
I'm orginally from Orange County in Southern California and I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees in classical guitar. I made my living for over a decade teaching and performing guitar and recorded 6 CDs and concertized throughout the U.S. as part of a guitar duo during this period. For the last decade however I have made my living doing graphic & web design as well as photography in Boston.
