We begin by discussing what type of an event it is you are looking to have photographed then we look at dates and location. For a specific event such as wedding, it is often one day but it may include a dinner the night before or even an egagement party several months away. For pet sessions we can be flexible with times as weather and season will have a effect on the look and feel of the photos.
For a pet session involving an animal that is comfortable outdoors, we can set up the photo locations in an environment of your choice and take into consideration the scenery, weather, and seasonal colors. Typically we set out on a walk in the neighborhood or scenic area. For an indoor pet we look more specifically at strong sources of indoor light and we focus on creative areas of the house. I will typically spend half the time photogaphing just the pet and the other half with the pet and owner together. I will use Flash but normally for shots where a person is involved. I may use a multi-light set up on a second session if the location and pet are condusive to this style and format.
I typically meet for two, 2-3 hour sessions, and I try to vary the sessions in terms of time of day and location.

I will post contact sheets of all the photos from our session for you to look through and we can then discuss options for prints, hard or soft cover book, framed matted picture, etc.
I will ask you for a selection of 20 to 30 of your favorite shots and I will also select my favorites to use when laying out the book. My intent is not to simply create a photo album -- which you may do for an additonal charge -- but to create and give my visual persepctive of you, your pet, your wedding, your special event, or whatever the case may be. Why do I charge more to simply make a photo album of the shots of your choice instead of the more work intensive method of assembling it to my creative sensibilities? Because I enjoy this process much more. I will send you a lo-res pdf for final approval before printing.
I will do color correction for all photos and retouching and b&w white conversion can be done upon request.
Call or email me with your specific request as well as the time and date and I'll contact you. To finalizea booking I will send you a contract which will require a 20% deposit. The remainder of the cost can be paid upon completion of the photo sessions but prior to the delivery of the final products of choice.
